Stock Europe marked growth amid Biden's inauguration

This image is no longer relevant

Europe stock exchanges recorded a positive trend on Wednesday morning. The major stock indices exhibited growth, while the attention of market participants is directed to political events in the United States of America and the main event of the day which is the official inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.

Market participants perked up ahead of the possible adoption of broader fiscal stimulus to support America's economy. Now on the agenda is a more detailed breakdown of the stimulus package proposed by President Biden last week. Recall that the total amount of the proposed infusion should amount to $1.9 trillion and include both direct payments to citizens and assistance to individual states of the country and much more. Of particular interest is the fact that the supplemental unemployment benefits will be extended, and the supplements themselves will be increased, since this is recognized as an effective measure that can level the crisis in the employment sector caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The first calls that the expanded incentive program has every chance of official ratification appeared just yesterday. In particular, candidate for US Treasury secretary, Janet Yellen, made an active call to launch large-scale actions to support the state's economy and accelerate the recovery from the crisis. Yellen explained that the authorities are not going to make the national currency weaker in order to gain additional competitive advantages in international markets. All attempts to artificially manipulate the dollar will be nipped in the bud.

Meanwhile, internal statistics on changes in the economies of European states cannot be considered positive. The statistics on the inflation rate in the UK was released on Wednesday, which shows an acceleration in the indicator. The level of consumer prices in the state for the last month of 2020 turned out to be 0.6% higher compared to the same indicator recorded a year earlier. It is worth considering the fact that in November 2020, that is, a month earlier, the price level increased by 0.3%. According to the preliminary forecast of experts, in December there should also have been an increase of 0.5% on average, but everything turned out to be completely different.

The level of deflation in the EU countries at the end of last year retained its previous value, which is consolidating around 0.3%. At the same time, in this case, the opinion of analysts turned out to be fair, since they had warned in advance that changes in the indicator should not be expected.

The general index of large enterprises in the European region STOXX Europe 600 increased by 0.55% by morning, which sent it to a new level of 410.17 points.

The UK FTSE 100 Index is up 0.27%. The German DAX index jumped 0.61%. France's CAC 40 index rose 062%. Italy's FTSE MIB Index climbed 0.77% and is now the largest growth in the region. Spain's IBEX 35 Index was up 0.12%.
